Sylvester Stallone - When I was in junior high school, the teachers voted me the student most likely to end up in the electric chair.

What does the world want?

What doe my Mother want?

What do the teachers, the professors want?

What do all employers want?

Self-Teaching Students: Students who want to learn, then go teach themselves, we want self-teaching, we do not want to push student to learn, this is never fun.

What do student want?

Stop telling us to study: To have mothers, fathers, teachers, employers, the establishment to get off our backs, and stop telling us to study.

Sugata Mitra

I want to read that again:

"There are places on Earth, in every country where, for various reasons, good schools cannot be built and good teachers cannot or do not want to go."
- Sugata Mitra

Hello,

I am Andy Lee Graham, and I love travel, especially to locations described by Sugata Mitra, to places where Schools and Teachers are not really the same as Kansas. OK, so 90 countries, and 15 years later, I am still out and about living in these fun locations, they are good fun. Yet, I get nervous reading about education, the world, most every human on the planet believes that education is solution to all problems.

Many countries have super-educated people who refuse to work, because the job they studied for does not exist. So, they sit around all day complaining there is no job for them. The over-educated with no job group has super-saturated the planet and there is no school of "Job Creation."

I truly enjoyed the TED talk video of Sugata Mitras experiments in self-teaching, where he puts a computer in many fun places on the planet, poses a question, and the children figure out answers.

I think there are many uses for this idea in self-teaching by Mr Sugata Mitra, and we need to put up, or shut up, we need jobs, more than we need education, with money, taxes, we can build schools.

Where are you right now?

You are reading on a site called "All The Good Ideas."

What is the mission of this site? We want to take a good idea like Mr. Sugata Mitra's and showcase them around the world, we want to make all the good idea available in other locations.

Hole in the Walls

Proposal of New Experiment for Mr. Sugata Mitra.

Maybe we take the computers, these hole-in the walls and put videos of good ideas, of job creating ideas and maybe they locals will copy them, figure out them from the videos.

I am in Kara, Togo, West Africa, they have tons of welding of steel going on here, and motorcycles are everywhere, but no side-cars. People walk down the road with couches on their heads.

Just an idea, all the good ideas are out and about, they just need communicated.

Thanks

Andy Lee Graham 2013
